The Ford Agency is recruiting for a proactive and analytical thinker to join a fast-paced DC based law firm. The Librarian will be involved with independent research on a variety of legal and non-legal topics, work cross-departmentally, and stay up to date with new technologies. This is a terrific opportunity for an individual with a Master's Degree in Library Science who has at least one year of experience working in a law firm library to work in a collaborative team environment!
Responsibilities Include:
Conduct legal, corporate, and legislative research utilizing digital and print resources
Collaborate with attorneys and other departments to support business development
Collaborate with the Conflicts department on research requests
Support a variety of professional departments
Maintain up to date knowledge with technology and research methods
Qualifications Include:
MS in Library Science or Information Science
1+ years of experience in a law firm library
Experience with legal, corporate, and due diligence research
Experience using Westlaw, Lexis, Law 360, Bloomberg BNA, and other print and digital resources
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Superb writing skills
Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
